Formaldehyde Spill Kit
The Formaldehyde Spill Kit contains both a neutraliser & absorbents packaged as a handy, portable spill kit. Vytac FNC completely immobilises concentrated solutions of FDH (15 - 37%) within 3-10 minutes and eliminates vapour emissions. FNC may also be used with “land farming" techniques, to neutralise ground spills. It is harmless to vegetation.
Important: Store above 0° c or crystallisation will occur which reduces efficacy.
Specification
Neutralisation rates depend upon concentration, 1L of FNC will neutralise approximately:
- 670mL of FDH 37%
- 2.5L of FDH @ 10%
- 6L of FDH @ 4%
Note: Buffered formaldehyde solutions may require more FNC for complete neutralisation.
How To Apply
Apply FNC Neutraliser by spray directly onto the spill, starting from the outside and working toward the centre. Concentrated solutions will be transformed into a solid, pink material within 2-5 minutes (possibly longer at low temperatures). Diluted solutions will be neutralized in the same time, forming a slurry of suspended residue. Liquid residues may be absorbed or can be flushed away in accordance with local authority regulations. CAUTION: Wear suitable protective equipment when applying FNC.
