Why you should keep spill kits close to hand

If you work with hazardous liquids or chemicals, you need to make sure that you are prepared with spill kits.

When buying spill kits, you will see that they are available in various different types, so you can choose one which suits your requirements. Before buying, you also have to consider the type of liquids which you are likely to be cleaning up. Spill kits have absorbents which can absorb all kinds of fluids.

There are also universal kits which can be used for cleaning up a wide range of liquids and fluids. Oil kits help to clean up oil or oil-related substances safely, and hazmat spill kits can clear up any hazardous fluids.

In addition to this, there are also specialty kits which help to absorb substances such as mercury and battery acid. Mercury kits are specially designed in a way so that they can easily control mercury vapour.

Besides the nature of the spill, when buying spill kits you also have to consider the size of spills. For small spills, you can go for bagged or bucket kits and for larger spills there are drum kits.

Finally, you need to make sure that the spill kits contain protective gear, such as goggles, gloves and masks.
